Scott McKane Reporter

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Ariz. - One of Utah's Most Wanted has been arrested in Arizona, thanks to tips generated by FOX 13 News viewers. Back in May, Ricky Archuleta was named Public Enemy #1 by the Salt Lake Metro Gang Unit.

Detectives were pretty sure he'd fled Utah, but new leads came in once FOX 13 viewers got involved.

Archuleta is the prime suspect in a February shooting outside a downtown Salt Lake City tavern. The victim was shot in the head, but survived. Archuleta was charged with the crime, but he quickly vanished. So, gang cops made him the latest Public Enemy #1.

Archuleta is an ex-con and a documented member of a violent street gang. Detectives say the February shooting happened outside Mo's Grill, after Archuleta and some friends got into an altercation with some other people inside the bar.

Even before being charged with the crime, Archuleta disappeared. But from the beginning, police were confident FOX 13's Utah's Most Wanted viewers would help them get their man.

Agent Rick Simonelli of the US Marshals Service says they found him hiding near Phoenix, Ariz. Officers there arrested Archuleta without incident on Tuesday. He remains in the Maricopa County jail awaiting extradition back to Utah.
